TITLE:
Part-time coordinator for the Ballard County Agency for Substance Abuse Policy (KY-ASAP) board, Ballard/Carlisle Counties Alliance (BCCASAP).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Desire to make a difference in the community and schools.
Be a team player; work effectively with a variety of agencies.
Ability to coordinate and provide training and instruction.
Be self-motivated, self-directed, well-organized, innovative and creative.
Experience with PowerPoint, Outlook Express, Word and other technological tools.
Experience researching, writing and administering grants.
Excellent communication skills; public relations experience a bonus.
Minimum education requirements: Associate’s degree, preferred in human services or related field such as social work, psychology, criminal justice, public health, substance abuse or counseling; AND/OR five years of professional work experience in one of the above fields.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, maintain and implement Ballard County ASAP strategic plan while serving and reporting to the executive committee and board.
Provide leadership in developing and coordinating substance-abuse-related policies.
Attend required trainings, workshops and continuing education opportunities in best practices and science-based strategies
Assist with data collection and evaluation.
Research and write grants to obtain additional funding for substance abuse programs.
Build, maintain and manage collaborative efforts and coordination of existing substance abuse initiatives.
Increase public awareness of alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) usage.
Oversee media/PR campaigns and improve communication at local, regional, state and federal levels.
Assist in implementation of science-based prevention programming in schools.
Manage budgetary funds per appropriate policies and guidelines.
SALARY:
Part-time position, to work between 300 and 600 hours (40 to 80 days) during the school year; position to begin on or before Aug. 1, 2009. Actual salary will be based on education, experience and number of contracted days.
